Unfortunately, telecom fraud is a common occurrence. Examples are hacked telephone exchanges and the abuse of 0900-numbers. The Fraud Covenant aims battle telecom fraud by working in close collaboration with participating members and sharing information in order to prevent and deter fraud.
How does it work?
How can I recognise fraud? Where can I report fraud? How can I quickly block a telephone number or suspend a money flow or have it suspended? In close collaboration with participating telecommunications providers, COIN manages a number of agreements and policies against fraud. These are laid down in the Fraud Covenant. Members can consult this covenant at any time. This allows you to act swiftly and adequately upon finding suspicious or fraudulent trafic. Furthermore, we offer you the possibility to share knowledge and experiences with us and other providers. This is the only way we as an industry can cope with fraud.
What do you get?
The COIN service Fraud Covenant offers direct access to all relevant information with regard to fraud prevention strategies. It allows you to participate in the Working Group where the covenant is assessed, improved, kept up-to-date, upon which valuable information is shared with other providers.
